This kit is intended to help clients control their anxiety, and address the common emotional and social problems that accompany anxiety disorders. The kit contains 50 cards that show cognitive distortions on one side, and rational responses and positive behavioral activities on the other. The kit also features a CD with dozens of printable forms to help keep track of change. A Thought Changing Silicone Bracelet is included to help clients remember to "catch" their cognitive distortions, and change them to more realistic and positive thoughts.

Love these cards to use in session, to review skill of cognitive restructuring. I have clients, read through the irrational thoughts, and then pick the ones they struggle with. Then I have them try and come up with some rational responses on their own. If they struggle, we flip the card and review.

Still learning the best way to use this, as if you go through the whole deck with the young person, this can take a long time. I think I will be turning a few random cards (5?) and asking the client to select the most significant one to discuss. The reframing ideas and action plans on the back of the cards are very useful.
There are as many blank cards (for the client to record their plan? - which I will likely not use) as there are actual scenario cards. I would rather see just the scenario cards provided in a cards box, so they can be easily kept together. The box that the whole kit is provided in is about 4 times too big as it needs to be. Not great for transporting.
