Somebody defused explosive anger! But which character was it? And where? What coping skill was used? Players play the role of a detective, searching for clues to the mystery. Finding answers to the who, how, and where, all while learning important coping skills and techniques to control anger.

Kids: "Take a few slow deep breaths through your nose and out your mouth. How can deep breathing reduce angry outbursts?"
Kids: "What does it mean to be in charge of your feelings?"

It's easy to avoid the bombs

I like that this game uses deductive thinking to solve the game. It's easy to avoid the bombs, therefore not answering question cards which have great tips for reducing anger. Hence the 3 star rating as learning opportunities are lost. I've changed the game so a player draws and responds to a card with every turn and if they land on a bomb they draw and respond to 2 cards.

Thanks for your feedback! We’re glad you’ve found the anger management tips on the cards to be useful. The number of question (bomb) spots was carefully tuned to keep gameplay brisk and exciting while still offering ample opportunity to discuss anger control throughout the course of the game. There is an incentive built into the gameplay to encourage clients to land on more question spaces (the person gets to go again). Both of these options should give insight into the player and their willingness to talk and strategize.

In the manual are some variations in game play, including variations for more question cards to be played in a game. Please be sure and check out the tips and alternative game suggestions included in the instructions.

I love that this game has different versions, and you can choose quickplay or longer versions. TBH when you first open the game it can look overwhelming because there are so many pieces but it makes sense quickly and th directions are easy to read. All of my clients love this game, even their parents. I've done this in family sessions as well and it's really a converstion starter.

Plays like Clue. Good anger scenario cards, older elementary and middle schoolers enjoy this. Have used in family sessions as well. I’ve played the original and purchased the “updated” version for new office, and did not notice much difference. Be prepared to talk about how “assertiveness” can help with defusing.
