Our basic portable sand tray starter kit just got better! If you're a home-based therapist, this is the perfect set to get started. Combined, this set weighs less than 9 lbs, making it easily mobile while the sand still fills the tray. Miniatures are selected to maximize space and coordinate with the compact tray.

The sand tray, made in the USA, has handles that lock the lid securely in place for transporting or storage. The sand tray measures 14 5⁄8" x 10 1⁄4" x 3 3⁄8". It is a beautiful blue tone, perfect for representing the sky or water.

5 lbs of therapy sand is the perfect sand for travel. The coarse grains of this play sand make it more spill resistant while still providing a traditional sand for your clients.

Miniatures are diverse and practical. Families, animals, mythical, spiritual, even natural items were selected based on sand tray research. Our new buildings even open and close!

This is a great starter sand tray kit and all of the kids I have used it with have really enjoyed it! I like the variety of miniatures included with it, but I think there are too many toy soldiers. I would like to see more people, maybe different professionals, or other hobby or school-related miniatures instead of so many soldiers. Overall, it is a great kit.

I have been using the Basic Portable Sand Tray Starter Kit in my practice, and it’s been such a great addition. The sand itself is soft and pleasant to touch, with a balanced mixture that feels natural and easy to shape. My adult and child clients both really enjoy working with it. The tray is lightweight but sturdy, which makes it simple to move between rooms or settings. It is a wonderful resource for introducing sandtray work.

Very pleases with this portable sand tray starter kit! Decided to purchase last minute to use at a school with elementary age students and it was absolutely perfect! I even used it with staff at the school and it worked perfect. It is a great size and the miniatures included are perfect! I added kinetic sand for portability but Im sure any sand would be great to use. Definitely glad I bought this portable sand tray kit.

I purchased this after getting to do a demo with a friend/clinician’s. There is a good variety of miniatures. I considered buying only the miniatures and then making my own kit however, this was quite convenient especially with the self containing storage tray. It is also reasonably priced, making it similar or only minimally more than piecing a kit together.

The tray is true to the dimensions listed. Perfect for travel or small workspaces.

With the COVID pandemic, this portable sand tray has been so useful! I have dropped it off at client's' houses and been able to continue using Expressive Child Centered Counseling with my younger clients. I have a few trays, one that I keep for myself and two that are at clients' houses. I am so grateful for this wonderful product!!

This has been a hit in our offices. The children gravitate to it as soon as they walk in. The self-contained kit is a valuable resource to have on hand and has become a must-have item as we are working remotely during the pandemic. The clear case makes it ease to keep track of items and the organizing insert allows for best use in a mobile setting. The plastic is tough and sturdy to handle travel and play. Definitely worth it if you'd like to explore sand tray therapy and a great introduction to the clinical work.

As a basic kit, this sand-tray is great! I did notice a lack of a few figures that could have been useful to have included without having to buy a whole additional figure set, specifically school related items. Because I use this mainly with school-aged children, having the a bus figure and a school-building figure included in the basic set would be useful since so much of their lives happen at school. Other than that, it's been great to have and use!

I found this starter set to be perfect for training therapists in class -- and for clients / patients who need to have a set at home for tele-therapy. (They can do it from the comfort and safety of their home, with the therapist on a HIPPA-compliant platform, if need be.) At first, $100 SEEMS like a lot of money for a box with toy miniatures, but if you were to collect all of these essential pieces on your own, it would likely be a lot more expensive -- and definitely a lot more work. I would recommend this company for its customer service as well. The product arrived after only a few days -- during COVID-19 "lock-down" so I was quite impressed. I'll likely order from PlayTherapySupply.com again.
