We invented the affordable wood sand tray, and now we've just made it better! New improved design features stronger dovetail joints in the corners and higher quality materials.

Dovetail joints in each corner make this tray one tough mamma jamma!

You asked for it, we made it! A high-quality wood sand tray that won't break the bank. Our top quality tray is handmade in the USA of highest quality knot-free solid pine. There is no cheap presswood or veneer, just the highest quality solid dimensional pine, imported from New Zealand.

With reinforced corner joints and a stay-put lid, this tray is sure to last you many years. Tray exterior measures 19.5 x 28.5 x 3.5 inches (interior measures 18 x 27 x 3 inches).  Handmade in our own facility. Made in the USA!

Nice product. It was delivered quickly and safely. When not in use, sitting on the table, it looks like a very professional piece of equipment.
The cover, though contributing to a clean appearance, can be too easily knocked off. It could be a little sturdier. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the tray.

I bought the basic wooden sand tray with lid and it has been excellent for helping kiddos with sensory exploration and for sand tray therapy techniques. The blue interior aids in imaging water and allows for redirection when a child wants to add actual water.

I’ve held off on investing in a real sand tray for so long and I wish I hadn’t! This has been used so much in the past two weeks and I feel like some of the work has been way more involved than some of the other sand trays we have utilized in the past.

It appears to be well built and sturdy. My only issues are that I wish there was an option for the dark stain with a lid that is flat like this one because I use the top of the sandtray as a table for art-making and I prefer the darker stain. I also wish it was slightly deeper and not as wide, but that is just my personal preference.

This tray is gorgeous. I started using it last week with our patients. They enjoy the size and their ability to make 'islands' in the tray. I wish the box was 'stained' a different color on the outside to give it a more professional look, but that is something I can do myself, so it's not a big deal.

I've been doing sand tray therapy sessions in a large cake tin for a few months. Sessions have been meaningful and successful! However, with this new wooden tray I have noticed deeper conversations and more meaningful thought put into the tray. Clients seem to connect easier and they seem to focus more with the color combination and natural aesthetic of the wood. I don't know what it is, but this "real" tray just opened up a bigger world for both myself and my clients. I wish I got it sooner!

My clients love this sand tray and that the bottom is blue to represent the ocean while playing. I like that it is narrow enough to slide under my couch as I do not have space to keep it out, so that saves me! This is a solid wooden sand-tray. It is well built, smooth, shows no splintering. The lid fits snugly and so far its great. I've used similar wooden trays over the years, this one, however, was larger than any I've used in the past. I highly recommend. Make sure to measure so you know what you're getting. I look forward to adding the stand with wheels in the future (which is purchased separately).
