Teen Suicide & Self-Harm Prevention Card Deck

Can be used alone or in conjunction with the Teen Suicide & Self-Harm Prevention Workbook.

Using the Discussion Starter Card Deck will break the ice, encourage openness, and help introduce the subject of Teen Suicide and Self Harm. The cards are designed to help teens deal with the many characteristics that may prompt them to experience self harm and/or suicidal ideation and provide information and tools that build upon each other to help them to manage thoughts, feelings, and behaviors related to self-harm and suicide.

Sample cards:

• What are some of the primary reasons you deliberately cause pain or harm to yourself? Ask others in the group for their reasons.
• Thoughts of suicide are often related to major traumas people have experienced in life. Describe any recent trauma you have experienced.
• A bucket list consists of those things you wish you had finished, or could spend more time doing. What's in your bucket list?
