Takes the reader on a journey through the eyes of a person who is grieving

At first glance, I thought this book was intended for children. Little did I know, it is written for people of all ages. It takes the reader on a journey through the eyes of a person who is grieving and recognizes the individual process for each person. The great, detailed illustrations share a story of "Grandy" who just experienced a loss and goes through her process of making "tear soup". She teaches us that each person has their own way of making their "tear soup" and that it takes a long time, sometimes longer than what other people would want. I can't praise this book enough. Recently going through a loss, Tear Soup has made me feel I am not the only one with these emotions expressed in the book. The inside cover says "Tear Soup affirms the bereaved, educates the unbereaved, {and} is a building block for children". This is as spot on as the book. Praise to Tear Soup!
