Beautiful illustrations and gentle, easy to understand text make this a great book for younger elementary students. It is so versatile- many difficult topics can be addressed as the "terrible thing" is never named. Very pleased with this purchase!

EXCELLENT book. Covers a broad range of symptoms/experiences after trauma/stress and helps kids in moving past an internalization of "bad kid" to instead seeing recent behavioral concerns as, while still not okay, a reflection of unmet needs and stress from their experience. De-pathologizing while still offering great psychoeducation. Widely applicable across clients. Highly recommend as a staple book.
